Her architectural impulsivity carried over into her style of painting. Over the past years, her work has taken three distinct forms architecture, abstract and figurative.
Artist Statement
Why do I make art?
I wish I did know why I make art but the more I paint I find myself mystified. So much of it just doesn’t make sense. But if there is anything I have learned in my recent years is that I didn’t define myself as an Artist but my surroundings did.
I paint universal themes, The subjects which speak to me. I paint women, mostly in domestic scenes which can also be defined as daily feminism. I paint abstracts, I make art using random materials like waste or package material, etc. I feel like my art really shows who I am rather than what I “like”.
When I am creating my art I prefer working in a quiet environment. I wouldn’t really say anything inspires me as art is primal to humans. I just love making pieces that I feel express what I feel best. I am curious by nature and making art gives me an opportunity to learn something new, regularly. May it be material or subject etc.
